NEW SEWICKLEY TWP. — A boil-water advisory is in effect until further notice for New Sewickley Township residents.

Crews from the New Sewickley Township Municipal Authority finished repairing an 8-inch water main break along Harvey Run Road on Tuesday morning, but officials said residents will continue to be under the advisory.

The break, which occurred around 8 p.m. Monday, caused officials at the Freedom Area School District to call for a two-hour delay. Classes resumed Tuesday, and bottled water was brought in for students.

The break occurred in the 1100 block of Harvey Run Road. Municipal authority officials said pressure was being restored, and a water buffalo was being set up at the Pine Run fire station on Ninth Street Extension by mid-morning.
