IIMCAA to help poor students

In a bid to empower children coming from economically weaker sections of society, the State Chapter Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association has decided to lend a helping hand in academics and finances to such students.  The decision came in the annual meet of the IIMCAA held here on Sunday evening.

Presenting the annual report of the body IIMCAA, Jharkhand Chapter, Secretary, Pranav Pratyush informed that several events and programmes were organised to activate the members of the organisation in the year 2017-18 and the body was mulling to help students coming from poor economic background, who have less access and exposure to career options and dynamics of the academic field.

The event was attended by over 25 IIMC alumni and their family members working on various positions across the State. It included students from 1995-96 batch to the recent 2016-17 batch. Senior member and Sr Security Commissioner (SE Railway) Santosh Kumar Dubey alongwith his better half IG (training) Jharkhand Police, Priya Dubey graced the occasion and motivated the members.

Dean, Mass Communication at the Central University of Jharkhand Devbrat Singh suggested to expand the association and also advised to hold seminars and workshops on contemporary issues.

Chapter President and Sr Officer at RDCIS, SAIL, Ranchi, Manoj Kumar also gave his assent on working on the suggestions during soon and make a work plan for the same. IIMCAA national secretary Aseem Ghosh talked about the expansion of the chapter to national and international levels. 

Vice President of chapter Amit Gupta presented the vote of thanks, while the programme was compeered by youngest member of the body Anamika Kumari. 

Members including Manisha Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Kumar Rajesh, Anand Dutta, Anupam Rana, Omkar Pandey, Santosh Oraon, Rajesh Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Puja Oraon, Ramesh Bhagat and others also cherished the memories of IIMC days and how their lives were changed after completing the course from IIMC.

IIMC Alumni Association aspires to work as the dynamic link between IIMC's Past and present students providing them a platform for social and intellectual growth.
