Polavaram project: Centre yet to reimburse Rs 2,886 crore to Andhra Pradesh

Polavaram project

VIJAYAWADA: The State government is yet to get about Rs 2,800 crore from the Centre towards reimbursement of the funds it spent for the construction of Polavaram project. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the project at the Interim Government Complex on Monday.
Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao told reporters that though the Centre in principal gave nod for releasing Rs 1000 crore 10 days ago, the State government yet to get the funds.

J13,364.98 crore - Total amount spent on Polavaram project
J5,135.87 crore - Amount spent before declaring Polavaram a national project
J8,229.11 crore - Funds spent after declaring it a national project
J5,342 crore - Amount reimbursed by the Centre till date
