CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Queens Road in Myers Park is closed in both directions while crews work to contain a gas leak after a driver crashed into a pole Tuesday morning, knocking out power to more than 200 people in the area.
Officials told Channel 9 that a vehicle slammed into a utility pole around 1 a.m., knocking out the power.
When crews began work to fix the damaged pole, they accidentally clipped a gas line.
Queens Road was closed between Hermitage Court and Henley Place, and officials expect everything to be restored by 7 a.m.
