Auto parts maker Tenneco to buy Federal-Mogul for $5.4 billion

(Reuters) - Inc said on Tuesday it would buy Federal-Mogul, a maker of powertrain components, from Enterprises LP for $5.4 billion as it looks to gain share in the fast growing markets.

Tenneco's shares rose 2.8 percent to $57.11 in premarket trading.

After the deal closes in the second half of this year, would separate its combined businesses into two independent, publicly traded companies in the second half of 2019.

The deal would be funded with a combination of $800 million in cash, 5.7 million shares of Class A common stock, 23.8 million shares of non-voting class B common stock and debt.
