"Mum, what's wrong?" Ethan asked, looking directly up into his mum's face.
"I've made a lot of mistakes," she replied.
This innocent question was the first small step in Kate's escape from the depths of her gambling addiction.

An internal staff survey, leaked to The Canberra Times on Monday, revealed widespread dissatisfaction among ACT's firefighters.
But Mr Lane disputed the severity of the survey's findings, saying he thought the ESA's culture was "very good".

Container deposit scheme heralds drink price rise
Canberrans will be able to cash in on their empty drink containers from mid-year.
But the refunds on offer could be offset by a rise in the cost of drinks.
The ACT government on Monday announced its container deposit scheme would begin on June 30, with people who return empty, eligible drink containers to a designated collection point to receive a 10-cent refund per unit.
