Westworld season 2 release: When is it released on TV?
WESTWORLD is set to return to our screens later this month and fans of the hybrid science fiction-western thriller have been sharing their excitement on social media ahead of its release. But when will Westworld season 2 be released?
The show's creators, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, caused a meltdown on social media platform Reddit a few days ago after trolling readers with a video promising spoilers prior to broadcast.
The pair wrote in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session: "If you guys agree, we're going to post a video that lays out the plot (and twists and turns) of season 2. Everything. The whole sordid thing. Up front.
“That way the members of the community here who want the season spoiled for them can watch ahead, and then protect the rest of the community, and help to distinguish between what's 'theory' and what's spoiler.”
However, the video instead featured a spoof of a 1980s song as introduced by show character Dolores, played by actress Evan Rachel Wood.

Although the show’s creators spectacularly pranked fans, they have been upfront about when Westworld will return.
HBO’s biggest ever show will get its season 2 premiere on Monday, April 22.
It will be aired simultaneously in the US and the UK, with Sky Atlantic broadcasting the show at 2am EST.

For newcomers who want to watch and do not have Sky Atlantic, there is also the option of streaming it live on NOW TV.
An Entertainment Pass costing £7.99 per month enables viewers to access upto 250 box sets.

The show, based on a 1973 film directed by Michael Crichton, is based in an android-operated Wild West-themed amusement park.

Its huge popularity - the 2016 finale drew in 2.2 million viewers for the initial broadcast alone - means its returned has been predicted for some time.
The new run is expected to continue in its current format of an hour per episode.
