Haryana Industrial Training and Skill Development Minister Vipul Goel on Monday said that 22 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) would be converted into “model ITIs”, which would operate on dual education model and gradually other ITIs would also be taken up.
The Minister was speaking after launching 10 new skill courses of Haryana Vishawkarma Skill University (HVSU) in Gurugram. The new skill courses have been designed as per industry integrated dual education model, which would facilitate the students in learning theory and getting practically hands on training in the industry itself for which they would be paid stipend by the industry, he said.
He said, “Skill education is the need of the hour, if we want to direct the energies of our young population towards employment and productivity”.
The Minister exhorted the industry leaders to come forward and participate in skilling mission of State Government by collaborating with HVSU in integrated model.
Goel said that the students enrolled in these courses would get on the job training in the industries. He also honoured 21 trainers from Hero MotoCorp, two from Concentrix and two representatives from Ernst and Young for their valuable contribution with ‘Certificate of Appreciation’.
On the occasion, the zonal level winners of India Skills Haryana—2018 for World Skill Competition- 2019, Kazan (Russia) were felicitated under the aegis of Haryana Skill Development Mission, which successfully organised zonal level skill competition.
The Minister also awarded 121 winners of zonal level skill competitions with prizes, out of which 72 first prize winners received Rs 10,000 each and 49 second prize winners received Rs 2,000 each.
From next year, Haryana would start state level skill competitions, in which winner of first prize would get Rs 50,000 while the second prize winner would get Rs 25000 cash, the Minister added.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, HVSU, Raj Nehru said that the new skill courses are diverse from traditional foods to automation and data analytics, catering to the needs of all type of aspirants, who want to get skilled themselves.
