ALBANY - A Bronx man was charged recently with conspiring to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin in Columbia County, according to the U.S. Attorney Office in the Northern District.

Saul E. Pacheco, 37, is accused of supplying heroin to a Columbia County drug dealer from December 2017 through April 2018.

Pacheco appeared Monday for a detention hearing before a federal judge who ordered him released with conditions, including a secured bond, electronic monitoring and home confinement.

Officials said Pacheco was arrested and charged on April 4 while attempting to meet the Columbia County dealer in a parking lot of a casino in Yonkers. Law enforcement found a plastic bag with about 50 grams of heroin in the parking lot that Pacheco had on him before discarding it as officials approached him.

If convicted, Pacheco faces at least five years and up to 40 years in prison, as well as a term of post-imprisonment supervised release of at least four years and up to life.
