Watch live: Iowa Supreme Court hears arguments on traffic cameras

The Iowa Supreme Court is slated to hear oral arguments at 1:30 in the case of City of Des Moines, et al. v. Iowa DOT, which deals with the cities’ use of automated traffic enforcement cameras.

The cities contend that the state violated their home rule powers by requiring the removal of the cameras, among other arguments.

Attorneys will have 15 minutes per side to make arguments.

This is one of several court cases dealing with traffic cameras through different lenses. Separately, the Iowa Legislature has debated proposals to ban or regulate the cameras.
