Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday night in the 1100 block of West 3rd St.
The victim is a 17-year-old boy, police said. He was shot in the neck.
He was treated on scene by paramedics, then transported to Christiana Hospital where he remains in critical condition, police said.
Twenty-three people have been shot in Wilmington this year, five of them fatally, according to News Journal records. There were two stabbing deaths.
There were 13 shooting deaths in Wilmington by this time last year, according to News Journal records. In 2016 and 2015, that number was nine.
