Man injured in drunken brawl

A man was seriously injured during a drunken brawl at a wine shop at Akkayyapalem here on Sunday.

Locals rushed the victim, who was lying in pool of blood, to a hospital. The condition of the victim is said to be serious.

According to the police, two persons, who allegedly had old disputes met at a wine shop to discuss the old issues and settle them.

After consuming liquor, the duo entered into a heated argument and then it led one of the duo to attack other with broken liquor bottles.

The alleged assailant whose identity is yet to be known had attacked Prasad, 35, with broken liquor bottle inflicting deep cuts near the neck.

Police reached the spot and with the help of locals, shifted the victim to a hospital. Sources in the police said that was a lot of blood loss and the cut was deep. Police launch search for the accused.
