BJP Mahila Morcha chief calls for expeditious implementation of schemes

Vijaya Rahatkar, national president of the BJP Mahila Morcha, on Saturday said the Puducherry government should work in tandem with the Centre and take the centrally-sponsored schemes to the targeted sections without any confrontation.

‘Showdown won’t help’

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a BJP function at Thavalakuppam here, Ms. Rahatkar said the Centre had sanctioned ₹1,008 crore for the Union Territory.

There should be expeditious implementation of the schemes. Already, the Kejriwal-headed government in Delhi was adopting a confrontational attitude with the Centre. Such as system of administration should not happen in Puducherry.

Ms. Rahatkar inaugurated Rajmata Modi Common Service Centre and Thozhigal Mahalir Sangam in Puducherry.

The Mudra scheme launched by the Centre was envisaged for the poor. There was no collateral security and loans ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹5 lakh would be available to the beneficiaries, she added.
