Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and the Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sukhpal Khaira on Sunday questioned the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s “hesitance” to act against the SAD leader Bikram Majithia and the state DGP Suresh Arora, despite startling disclosures in the Punjab and Haryana High Court pointing towards deep politician-police-drug mafia connections.

Expressing shock and surprise at Capt Amarinder’s “adamant and autocratic” behavior for failing to act against Majithia, top police officials Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta, despite startling allegations of their deep connections with drug mafia.

Khaira lambasted the Chief Minister for trying to intimidate and browbeat whistleblowers like DGP Chattopadhaya on the pretext of indiscipline. “Instead of ordering an inquiry or taking action against Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta, Capt Amarinder is trying to gag the voice of DGP Chattopadhaya in the name of indiscipline,” he said.

“By not initiating any inquiry against Majithia, Arora and Gupta, Capt Amarinder is once again demonstrating that there’s complete understanding between him and the Badals when it comes to drugs or corruption,” he alleged.

He also took to task SAD president Sukhbir Badal for maintaining a stoic silence over the expose of DGP Arora’s connections with drug cartels.

Khaira reiterated his demand for a High Court monitored CBI inquiry against Majithia, Arora and Gupta to unravel and expose those trying to destroy the future of youth of Punjab.
