2018 Commonwealth Games day five live: Tough act to follow after Sunday's 27 Australian medals

Athletics: Kurt Fearnley made sure of his place in the T54 1500m final, finishing behind only a Games record from England's Richard Chiassaro (3:05.76).

Lawn Bowls: The Australian Women's Fours are currently out on the lawns in a battle for gold with South Africa.

It's too early to tell who's in charge of the momentum after just four ends (Australia 5, South Africa 3), but it is the fallback option for television audiences this morning if you're keen to tune in.

Badminton: Singapore will attempt to fight back from 1-0 down in the Mixed Team Event against England - with a bronze medal on the line.

Later this evening (17:30), India take on Malaysia for overall honours.

Hurdles: The stage is set for the 110m Men's Hurdles with England's Andrew Pozzi posting the quickest time of the morning (13.29).

Australian Nicholas Hough put his name on the sheet with a 3rd placed finish in Heat 1 (13.46), while Heat 2 belonged to the Jamaican's, with Hansle Parchment (13.30) and Ronald Levy (13.35) leading the rest.

Athletics: A pair of Australians have made it through to the Semifinals of the Women's 400m event, from a field of five heats.

Anneliese Rubie topped Heat 4, posting a 52.32 ahead of Botswanan Galefefe Moroko (53.28).

Morgan Mitchell finished in the back half of her field, but made up part of the fastest four to do so across all heats - heading through to the next stage with a 52.81 as a result.

Paging those swimming fans I was just talking about.

What a meet from the Dolphins - with more medals on the way, no doubt.

High Jump: Brandon Starc of Australia will be the first to jump in the Men's High Jump Final this evening, after his 2.21m jump this morning. A whole raft of other athletes matched the feat - though many boast much higher personal bests.

Starc himself has cleared a bar set 2.31 metres from the ground before, while 2.28m is his best this season.

Donald Thomas of the Bahamas and Robert Grabarz of England have both cleared 2.37m before, but we'll have to wait and see if anyone is pushed to that degree this evening.

For anyone that wasn't paying attention, yesterday was an incredible day for the Australian team.

Hello and welcome

It's day five of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast and much of the focus is aimed at Carrara Stadium, as the Track and Field portion of the Games continues.

For the swimming tragics out there; don't worry, there's still a few visits to the pool this meet.

The true test of total athletic prowess, the Decathlon, kicked off this morning - with High Jump, Hurdles and races on foot and on wheels treating those who made it down early.
