An elderly couple was strangulated to death at their residence in Sitamarhi town of Bihar, police said today.
The deceased, identified as Bharat Prasad (65) and his wife Mandavi (62), were killed yesterday night at their Bhavdepur Professor colony house, Town Police Station SHO Anil Kumar Sharma said.
The killing seems to be a fallout of land dispute, Sharma said.
"We are waiting for forensic team from Patna to reach here. We will be conducting post-mortem only after forensic evidence is collected by the team," he said.
The police have detained Prasad's private security guard and driver for interrogation, the SHO added.
