Instagram Can't Refresh Feed: App Down, Not Working or Loading

Instagram users opened the app Monday to find that they could not see any new posts on their feed.

The issue occurred specifically when users tried to load some profile pages on Instagram. After clicking on the user's name the page would appear with a notice that said, "Couldn't refresh feed," users who saw this notice also could not see any of the past posts from the user.

Users reported the issue on Down Detector; the outage map on the site showed that most of the reports of issues were coming from the United States and Europe on Monday.

Users also took to Twitter to check and see if they were the only ones experiencing issues with the app.

They quickly discovered that they weren't the only ones struggling to use the app.

Some users were unable to use the search function in the app as well.

A help page on the Instagram site recommends that users who see the "couldn't refresh feed" notice try a few troubleshooting steps to right the app. The first thing Instagram recommends users do is check their internet connection; the page notes that areas where wireless internet or cellular service is limited might cause the app to not load properly.

Instagram recently announced that it would add some new features, including a button that allows users to choose when their feeds refresh rather than the feed refreshing automatically within the app. The company also announced that it was changing the app so that new posts appeared first in the app, according to a blog post
