‘They cater to people of Agency areas’

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu flagged off two ‘Arogya Rathams’ (mobile dispensaries) arranged by the APTransco, as part of its corporate social responsibility, at the Secretariat on Monday.

Free medicine

According to an official release, around 200 types of diagnostic tests can be performed at these customised vehicles which will cater to the healthcare needs for the Agency areas. The vehicles will also distribute medicines to the patients free of cost.

The vehicles will be manned by qualified medical practitioners, staff nurses, pharmacists and lab technicians.

According to Energy Minister K. Kala Venkat Rao, the ‘Arogya Rathams’ will tour the Agency areas between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Patients suffering from diseases such as malaria, diabetes, hypertension, tuberculosis and cancer will be referred to government hospitals under the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, after the diseases are diagnosed by the ‘Arogya Rathams’.

Social and Tribal Welfare Minister Nakka Ananda Babu, MLC T.D. Janardhan, Principal Secretary (energy) Ajay Jain, APTransco MD K. Vijayanand, Joint Managing Directors Dinesh Paruchuri and P. Umapathy, Swachha Andhra Corporation Vice-Chairman C.L. Venkat Rao and APEPDCL CMD H.Y. Dora were present on the occasion.
