Hry govt comes up with Water ATM policy for urban areas

The government has come up with Water Policy to provide clean to people at public places in cities, said here today.

The urban local bodies said that residents of cities in can now look forward to having a water every 400 metres.

"A proposal to this effect has been approved by Chief Manohar Lal Khattar," she said.

Jain said soon after notification of this policy, the municipalities would identify public places, such as bus-stands, railway stations, parks, bus stops, parking areas and markets, and start installation of water ATMs.

"Functioning of water ATMs would be ensured in three ways. The municipality would install water ATMs and ensure that these functions properly, or the civic body would install it and hand it over to an agency for its smooth functioning. Corporate Social Responsibility would also be available to ensure functioning of water ATMs," the said.

Jain said distance between two water ATMs would be 400 metres, which could be adjusted according to convenience of people.
