It is hard to believe that at a time when so many issues of importance face the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Republican gubernatorial candidate Paul Mango is making an issue out of which bathroom transgender individuals may use, waging war on primary opponent Scott Wagner for allegedly committing the "crime" of seeking to allow individuals to chose where they relieve themselves.
I am no fan of Wagner, another dangerous candidate and Trump clone, but he is a sympathetic figure in the wake of the nonsense promulgated by Mango.
How many of us take a close look at who is in the restroom with us, determining which gender we consider them to be, and how many times has a troublesome transgender individual harassed or ogled Mango in a public facility?
I would be more concerned about my children sharing a restroom with a Jerry Sandusky-type of monster than someone who is transgender, but even so, crimes do not typically occur or begin in restrooms.
At a time when we should be talking about property taxes, a state budget that is not truly balanced, a state liquor system that should be dismantled, and a burgeoning public pension debt that will be the death of us if not addressed more seriously, a candidate who focuses on moral issues that have no bearing on our lives should be written off, placed on the scrapheap of state politics.
