IMPHAL: Chief Minister N Biren has decided to write to UNHCR and AADHAR authority after illegal immigrants were found in Manipur and involved in human trafficking.

Biren said on April 7 Moreh Police nabbed three persons, including a woman, at Moreh in the Manipur Myanmar border area and all were found to be illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh .

Police said the 20 year old woman of Mondo- Baguna Madila Bhara, Myanmar and the others were Rohingyas and holding UNHCR card and AADHAR.

Police said the woman was a victim of human trafficking and they were helped by one Md.

Ismail of Mayang Imphal.

The said person is still absconding.

Police is also trying to arrest some persons including Maulana Hussan at Moreh who were helping the immigrants stay in Manipur.

It was feared that the three Rohingyas were brought in from Bangladesh via Tripura and many girls were transported to other parts of the country.

All the three were detained and brought to Imphal for full probe.

Police said six others Rohingyas who were found in the state were in Imphal jail.

Concerned with the illegal immigrants having AADHAR card and other identity cards the state government has decided to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.

Chief Minister N Biren has also directed police to maintain vigil in the border areas specially at Moreh and at the Manipur Assam border area of Jiribam where the indigenous populace has become a minority.
