CHITWAN: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Shekhar Koirala has said that the party has become disgraceful under the poor leadership. He argued that the party would not be graceful until the leaderships get altered.

Talking to mediapersons, in Chitwan today, leader Koirala expressed his annoyance and said, “NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba could not execute the work in two years which should have been completed in two months.” He pointed towards the appointment of party members which is yet to be taken place when the party’s general convention concluded long time before. He said, “It is not the right move of President Deuba telling it is person’s defeat not party’s.”  He argued, “The party will not move gracefully until the president takes responsibility of the party’s defeat in the elections.”

Koiral was of view that the party should have held general convention in time.  “Under the statutes of the party, Deuba’s term of office remains for one year, 11 months, so he should hold the party’s statute convention and general convention within his term to make party graceful, leader koirala asserted.

On a different context, leader koirala said, “The prime minister’s three-day state visit to India has not achieved any new progress except strengthening the bilateral relations between two countries. However, PM Oli developed the country’s relation which was deteriorated following India’s unofficial blockade to Nepal. He reminded, “India had already allocated Rs 780 million for establishing railway and waterway link with Nepal about one-and-half years ago, there is nothing new.”

Leader Koirala said, “The white paper issued by Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada is ‘fabricated’ and ‘misleading’. He claimed that, the leftist governments in the past had roles in pushing nation’s economy towards deterioration. He said, the communists have governed the country by 76 per cent while the NC government has taken office by 24 per cent after the ‘People’s movement’, so the communist finance ministers were responsible for the country’s deteriorating economy.
