‘Will Cong. make Bengaluru India’s second capital?’

Does Bengaluru qualify to become the second capital of the country? Yes, according to an industrialist, who participated in an interaction with AICC president Rahul Gandhi here on Sunday.

Industrialist Sampath Raman asked the Congress president if he was willing to include the proposal to make Bengaluru the second capital. “Bengaluru requires at least ₹1 lakh crore to make infrastructure world class. Karnataka budget cannot support it. Will the Congress include in its manifesto to make Bengaluru second capital,” he asked. To this, Mr. Gandhi said: “The budget of Karnataka is limited. We will put some of these concepts in the manifesto. I have instructed Veerappa Moily (who is also manifesto drafting committee chairman) to interact with farmers, traders, business and other groups to get their inputs.” He said: “We do not want to create a Congress manifesto, We want to create a Karnataka manifesto.”
