‘Rory McIlroy has BOTTLED it!’: Masters fans lose their heads during tense final round
RORY MCILROY has struggled in the final round of the 2018 Masters and some fans have given up hope.
McIlroy shot seven under par yesterday to put him just three shots off Patrick Reed heading into the final round.
The American has performed consistently all weekend but there was hope going into Sunday that McIroy being paired with Reed will inspire him to victory.
The Northern Irishman needs the Masters to become just the sixth golfer in history to win the Grand Slam.
But McIlroy was one-over par through the first nine holes and fell behind Jordan Spieth in the leaderboard.
There’s still plenty of time for the 28-year-old to claw his way back but some fans have already given up hope.
“McIlroy couldn’t putt to save his life. Goes to show u how clutch Tiger was in his pomp,” one viewer said.
“Really poor from McIlroy never had a chance right from the first tee today,” Another fan posted on Twitter.

One Masters fan could’t even stand to watch any longer with McIlroy off the pace.
“McIlroy way off the kind of pace he needs to win this. He’ll have to wait till next year. I’m off to bed,” they said.
