Alexa & Katie are returning for sophomore year on Netflix.
The streaming service announced Monday that it's granting the multi-cam sitcom for a second season. The comedy centers on Alexa (Paris Berelc), who starts high school while battling cancer. She survives the ups and downs of her illness, social pressure and her family thanks to her best friend Katie (Isabel May).
The first season covered the girls' first semester of freshman year of high school and ended with their winter formal dance. According to the Netflix Season 2 announcement, the second season will tackle sophomore year, so prepare for more boy drama and maybe basketball tryouts for Alexa?

Netflix does not release streaming numbers, but the news comes shortly after the streaming giant canceled Everything Sucks! which targets only a slightly older demographic than Alexa & Katie. The latter's renewal comes as the service shifts focus to attract a bigger young adult audience, especially as Disney preps their own premium streaming service for 2019.
Alexa & Katie Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
