Buses from Kadavanthra to take Old Thammanam Road

Aimed at decongesting the busy Vyttila Junction, the traffic police have begun diverting buses reaching the location from Kadavanthra through the Old Thammanam Road.

Officials said vehicles proceeding to Thripunithura, Aroor and Alappuzha directions would not be permitted to cut through the National Highway.

Instead, they should take the Old Thammanam Road and turn right from Ponnurunni Temple Junction to proceed via NH underpass to reach the Vyttila service road.

The vehicles coming from Thammanam side should also proceed via the NH underpass, they added.

According to officials, the construction of the metro pillar at the entrance to the hub will start in two weeks.

The junction, where the construction of a flyover and a metro pillar is progressing, has been witnessing traffic jams for the past several days as hundreds of motorists are stuck on all four sides of the junction during the day.
