Theatre workshop on Rang Sangeet, a workshop all about music and theatres, concluded with a lot of enthusiasm here on Sunday. The workshop was organised in the city giving details information about the role of music in Indian theatres through ‘Rang Sangeet’.
The five day long workshop was organized by The Rising Society of Art and Culture (RiSAC) at Kalibadi. The aspirants learnt Rang Sangeet under the guidance of theatre artist Bhushan Bhatt.
On the concluding day the aspirants were given the final tips for performing Rang Sangeet. Moreover recently they performed what was taught to them which was much appreciated by the audience and theatre artists.
Rang Sangeet is all about the music and theatres. Here the music of theatre is presented in Rang Sangeet. Bhushan Bhatt taught the students about Rang Sangeet, its origin and also how it can be presented in various forms.
It is noteworthy that these days Rang Sangeet has again taken up the grip among the young theatre artists. Through Rang Sangeet presentation, the theatre artists pay tribute to the poets, writers and playwrights of Indian theatre industry.
It is also to be noted that the lyrics of Rabindranath Tagore, poetries of Dharamvir Bharti, the dialogues and the works of BV Karanth are the ones performed with great fervor. Also the music performed in various old plays of Karanth, Habib Tanvir, Alakhnanadan and others are also performed during Rang Sangeet presentation.
So the theatre participants were acquainted with the mesmerizing melodious music of Indian theatres through this workshop. Also Bhatt trained the participants of how to maintain balance between the presentation and expressions while performing Rang Sangeet.
