Market Now: Realty stocks rise; Prestige Estates, DLF top gainers
NEW DELHI: Realty stocks Prestige Estates Projects (up 1.85 per cent), DLF (up 1.37 per cent), Housing Development & Infrastructure (up 1.08 per cent) and Phoenix Mills (up 1.02 per cent) were trading in the positive territory during Monday's trade, keeping the sectoral index up.
The Nifty Realty index was trading 0.69 per cent up at 305 around 11:20 am (IST).
Shares of Unitech (up 0.75 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (up 0.55 per cent), Sobha (up 0.16 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises (up 0.09 per cent) were also in the green.
However, shares of Oberoi Realty (down 0.59 per cent) and Godrej Properties (down 0.10 per cent) were slightly down around that time.
Equity benchmarks were in the positive territory as a firm trend at other Asian markets on easing concerns about a sharp rise in US interest rates and buying by investors ahead of earnings season, scheduled to begin this week, helped lift market sentiment.
The NSE Nifty50 index was up 47 points at 10,379, while the BSE Sensex was up 142 points at 33,769.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.
