Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis was arrested Sunday for making “criminal threats” at Los Angeles International Airport, police said.
Davis reportedly asked his friend “if she remembered to pack the explosives” while at a ticket counter.
“Yesterday, Trevor Davis checked in at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter and was asked the usual questions about whether he was carrying any aerosol cans, knives, weapons or explosives,” LAX public information officer Rob Pedregon told ESPN. “Davis turned to his female companion and asked if she remembered to pack the explosives. He was then taken into custody and booked.”
Davis was released and given a May 3 court date.
The former University of California player is originally from San Francisco. He has appeared in 27 games in two seasons with Green Bay, primarily as a kick and punt returner. The Packers drafted him in the fifth round in 2016’s draft.
