LUDHIANA:
Saleem Tabri police have booked a person, who allegedly tried to outrage the
modesty of a woman, and thrashed her husband claiming that their two-wheeler hit his bike. The accused was identified as Kamal Kalyan of
Peeru Banda in Saleem Tabri area.
In her police complaint, Reena, wife of Bikram Kumar of Maqdampura, Jalandhar said that she along with her husband had come to meet her parents in Ludhiana on Honda Activa. While returning at 7 pm on April 4, the accused stopped his bike in front of their two-wheeler. Reena said the accused claimed that their vehicle hit his bike and started abusing them and even slapped her.
The complainant said that when her husband intervened, he tore her clothes after which she sat on the road. She also said that the accused thrashed her husband after pushing him on the ground and injured him badly.
Reena said that the accused then fled the spot when he saw people coming to their help.
On being informed, the cops from Saleem Tabri police station reached the spot and started investigation. Police booked the accused under sections 354 (
assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police officials said that the accused is yet to be arrested.
