
BJP to launch Swaraj Abhijan from April 14

BHUBANESWAR:The BJP will launch Gram Swaraj Abhijan across the State from April 14, the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, to May 5.As per the decision of the BJP’s Central Committee, party leaders will spend at least one night in the identified villages having majority population of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Apart from taking stock of the implementation of welfare schemes of the Narendra Modi Government at Centre, the leaders will explain about the specific measures taken by the Centre for welfare of the scheduled categories people.
This will be a massive exercise by the party to reach out to maximum number of people and explain them about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Soubhagya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jiban Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana and Mission Indradhanus among others, said State BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty.
He said the party will also celebrate Panchayati Raj Divas on April 24 and as per directives, leaders and party workers will go to villages and interact with the people. The exercise will strengthen the party base in rural areas, he added.
Meanwhile, State BJP president Basanta Panda has appointed party general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan and secretary Dillip Mallick as State coordinator and joint coordinator for successful implementation of the programme.
