Army Recruitment Rally (ARR) will start on Monday at Army Ground near Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi.
The Rally here will continue for 10 days from April 09 to April 18, for which over 59000 candidates have registered themselves online out of which, around 900 candidates are likely to get selected on merit.
Talking to the media persons at Football Stadium in Ranchi, Senior Screening Director Colonel Atul Kathuria and Director of Army Recruiting Office in Ranchi Colonel Deepak Dayal alerted the candidates from the touts and not to hand over their original documents to anybody
Surprisingly, despite several efforts made by the State Government to inspire youths in the Naxal infested areas last year, a remarkable drop in registration of candidates seeking jobs in Army has been recorded this year. Last year also a total of 74000 candidates had registered themselves, 5000 less than the previous year, against 59007 candidates this year.
“This time a total of 59007 candidates have registered themselves for the Rally out of which around 900 are likely to be selected purely on the basis of merit as checks and processes are absolutely stringent, foolproof and have been refined over the years,” said Colonel Kathuria. Therefore, candidates are advised not to get carried away by claims made by the touts as no one could help them get into the Indian Army, but their merit, he added.
The Colonel also advised the candidates to come to the Rally ground only on the dates of run specified for their districts as everyone will get a chance to run and show their might. Kathuria claimed that only deserving candidates will be selected as many checks and balances have been introduced for the selection process without having any scope of inducement or recommendation for getting selected for anyone.
“Though, the gates will remain open till 7:30 in the morning, everyone standing in the queue will also be allowed to enter, hence there is no need to be there in the queue from midnight,” said the Senior Screening Director. The District Administration has made all arrangements for the youths coming from far flung areas, he added.
Director, Army Recruiting Office Colonel Deepak Dayal informed that 18 CCTV cameras have been installed all around, right from the entry to the documentation site, to make the recruitment process more transparent.
“Youths must have trust in their own ability and trust their own army.
They should keep away from touts who exploit and cheat innocent and poor youths with false promises and enrolment into Army,” said Colonel Dayal.
Referring to the number of candidates registered for the Rally, Dayal said that maximum candidates have registered themselves from Ranchi (7158) and Palamu (5974) while least number of responses was recorded from Pakur (370), Jamtara (452) and Simdega (714).
Talking about a change in schedule, Colonel Dayal said that the Rally to be held on April 16 has been postponed for April 18 due to the Local Body Elections scheduled to be held on that day.
