CHENNAI: DMK working president M K Stalin has modified a Tamil adage to criticise chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami “who won’t raise his voice against the Centre.” Modifying the Tamil adage “Jaadikku etha moodi” (cap that fits a jar), Stalin on Monday said, “Modikku etra Edappadi' (Edappadi who is loyal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi).”

Speaking at a meeting in Thanjavur during his padayatra to retrieve the Cauvery, Stalin said the central and state governments had done injustice to the people of Tamil Nadu on the Cauvery issue.

He asked people to hoist black flags atop their houses and also wear black shirts and saris when Midi visits the state on April 12. "At present our aim is to make Tamil Nadu green once again and that is why we are all wearing green shawls or towels. But on April 12 when Modi visits Chennai, we must show our protests by hoisting black flags and wearing black shirts and saris,” he said.
