Hotel occupancy rates in Turkey’s cave region Cappadocia climbed almost 100% in April 2018

CappadociaTurkey’s historical capital Cappadocia region popular for cave land form has recently drawn more interest from international tourists. For this most of the hotels are almost packed up in April- May season.

 

 

Thanks to region’s fairy chimneys, valleys covered with natural rock formations, historical rock-carved monasteries, underground cities and hot-air balloon tours. These are set to revive Turkey’s tourism sector.

 

 

The hotel occupancy rates are almost at 100 percent in April and May in Cappadocia, which is visited by some 2.5 million people on average every year.

 

 

The tourism industry leaders and hotel representatives are already calling 2018 the “golden year,” as the number of international tourists has increased to a great extent in the first three months of the year and a positive atmosphere ousted malaise in Turkey’s tourism.

 

 

Most of the international tourists are flocking from Far Eastern countries which include China, Japan and South Korea, Latin America and some European countries showed an increase in the first quarter of the year.

 

 

According to data provided by the Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, there are 168,448 tourists visited the museums and ancient sites in the region last year. In 2018, the figure of international tourists has increased by 127 percent to 383,862.
