BHUBANESWAR: A coal-laden goods train got derailed at Rayagada station yard, 410km from here, on Monday. The incident happened while the train was entering station yard at around 5pm.

The Visakhapatnam-bound train came from Talcher after loading coal.

“All the wagons were safe, but the front wheel of the engine got skidded off the track. It’s a minor incident, nobody is hurt,” said East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources.

Train movement was stopped for around two hours due to the incident. The line was cleared at around 7pm. The engine was detached from the wagons to clear the line. The derailed engine was taken to the yard after an hour. An express train was detained for one and a half hours for the incident.
