Tirupati tops in Smart City Project execution

TIRUPATI: Tirupati Smart City works are cruising at a comfortable speed. Among the total of 77 projects, already four projects have been completed at a cost of Rs 13.26 crore and Rs 108.08 crore funds have been allocated for execution of five new projects.

At the tendering stage, there are five projects with an estimated cost of Rs 24.5 crore. Another 28 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 1,465.11 crore are under final approval of designing. In all, works of 42 projects worth Rs 1,610 crore are progressing now. When compared to 100 Smart City Projects in the country, Tirupati has stood top in execution, grounded and completed projects.

In the expenditure and projection of payments category also, the temple town has stood first. The Central Government and Executive Board has authorised the Managing Director of Tirupati Smart City Corporation to evaluate the bids and place the result before the board for awarding final contract.

Under Pan City, a total of nine projects have been taken up and all nine projects are at different stages and involve Rs 253.89 crore and the office of the MD, Tirupati, has already paid Rs 50 crore a month for these projects. Through TTC (ABD) head, there are a total of 33 projects, executed at a cost of Rs 1,357.06 crore and as on date, a total of 42 projects are in progress involving Rs 1,610 crore.
