CHENNAI: Officials from State government agencies met residents to discuss sewage issues at the ‘Sakkadai Thiruvizha’ (sewage festival) organised by Arappor Iyakkam on Sunday.

Residents, fed up with departments playing blame game and making them run, turned up to raise concerns with representatives of the Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewage Board, Chennai Corporation and Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust. “This is the condition of our groundwater.

We have approached,” said Lakshmi, a resident of Chitlapakkam, who brought with her a bottle of dark, brackish water drawn from her borewell.
