The Patriots could be adding another player to their running back depth chart. According to the NFL Network, the team brought in Orleans Darkwa  for a visit on Monday.

Darkwa, 26, is entering his fifth NFL season and has spent most of his career with the New York Giatns. Last season, he ran for a career-high 751 yards to go with five rushing touchdowns. He averaged 4.4 yards per carry and also caught 19 passes for 116 yards.

An undrafted free agent, he started his career in Miami, but was claimed off the Dolphins practice squad by the Giants during his rookie season. Last year, Darkwa had a strong finish to his career-year, rushing for 154 yards to go with a touchdown in the Giants Week 17 win over the Washington Redskins.

As it stands now, the Pats have several bodies at the running back position. The team already signed Jeremy Hill this offseason. Hill joined Rex Burkhead, Mike Gillislee, James White and Brandon Bolden. Burkhead, Gillislee and Bolden all enter 2018 on contract years. Their contracts are not fully guaranteed so if the Pats add Darkwa, he would only add to the roster competition this spring and summer.
