No controversy as had occurred during NEET examination last year

The JEE (Main) 2018 offline examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in three cities in the State on Sunday.

No untoward incidents were reported, the CBSE regional office here said.

Around 90% of the candidates who had registered appeared for Paper-1, but the figure was lesser for Paper-2.

Lakshmi Sunil, a city resident, felt the Mathematics section was difficult. Reshma Mohan, another candidate, said she found the Chemistry section difficult, while another said Physics was tough.

Amal, a candidate, said frisking before the examination went off peacefully, and there was no controversy as had occurred during the NEET examination last year.

With students asked to report at 7 a.m., parents were unhappy at having to wait outside school gates till the exam concluded at 12.30 p.m. Women especially were put to hardship in the absence of rest room facilities. If the school gates were open, they could have used the toilets inside, they said.

The CBSE regional office deployed four flying squads to inspect all 18 centres in the city.
