Oh My, Jaguar is Reportedly Working on Another SUV
Jaguar is looking to cash in on the booming crossover and SUV segments.
The Jaguar F-Pace kicked off the British automaker’s new focus, with the I-Pace and E-Pace following its first-ever SUV. Now, Autocar reports Jaguar is readying a J-Pace model, designed to take on the Porsche Cayenne. The range-topping SUV will feature a brand new shape inspired by Jaguar design director Ian Callum, and will be the company’s fourth SUV in just five years.
Although the F-Pace is considered a success and the I-Pace and E-Pace both look promising, Jaguar bosses know they need to focus on producing higher-end models so Jaguar retains an image of luxurious performance cars. That’s where the J-Pace comes in – a larger and more luxurious offering for Jaguar’s SUV lineup.

The company is also focusing on electrification, promising to deliver at least one electrified variant for each model by 2020.
Don’t expect very many details on the J-Pace to come, since it’s not set to debut until the early 2020s. But it will be sleek, luxurious, and all-aluminum according to Autocar and will likely use a version of Range Rover’s aluminum architecture. It will also borrow powertrains from Range Rover.
