COLOMBO (News 1st) – The government has decided to implement a rule that makes it mandatory for three wheelers operating taxi services to have a fixed fare meter by the 20th of April. 

The decision would benefit the passengers, Chairman of the National Council on Road Safety Dr. Sisira Kodagoda stated.

Earlier the government planned to make meters compulsory for three-wheelers in January however, the deadline was extended until April.
