Bridgeport tied the game on a power-play goal by Ryan Hitchcock at 6:02 of the second period.
Providence responded 2:50 later with a power-play goal by Hargrove, assisted by Adam Payerl and Jakub Zboril.
Postma increased the lead to two goals at 17:05. Hargrove and Jack Studnicka were credited with assists.
Austin Czarnik made it 4-1 at 10:59 of the third period, from Tommy Cross and Postma.
Jeff Kubiak added a shorthanded goal for Bridgeport with 26 seconds left.
Christopher Gibson stopped 19 shots for the Sound Tigers.
