Masters 2018: Why is the Masters not on TV? Bizarre reason revealed
THE MASTERS gets underway today but many supporters are puzzled as to why the event is not shown on TV during Thursday and Friday morning.
BBC and Sky Sports own the rights to broadcast the Masters live from Augusta as Tiger Woods hunts for his first major win in 10 years.
However, avid fans are forced to miss the first session of the opening two days unless they shell out a considerable amount to actually get into the club.
Sergio Garcia is hoping to defend his Green Gacket in the first major of the year as he won the Masters for the first time in 23 attempts last time out.
But he will face a tough challenge from the bookies’ favourites in Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and Woods.

Why is the Masters not on TV in the morning?
The Augusta National is one of the most famous golf courses in the world and has built up a reputation for its exclusivity.
And that is simply why they have turned down millions of dollars in extra revenue to keep up their tradition.
The club feel it is intrusive to have the inside of their walls beamed to the world all day long.
So they have take the decision to restrict viewing until after 3pm US time on the opening two days of the competition.
