SURAT: A 17-year-old girl student of five year
integrated LLB course in
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (
VNSGU) ended her life on Sunday at her residence in
Vesu. The deceased hanged self to ceiling fan using a dupatta. Her family members informed that she was stressed following her disqualification from appearing in final exam which is to start from Monday.
Urvi Parate, a resident of Suman Awas in Vesu, was found hanging at the residence. Post-mortem examinations confirmed that she died of hanging. Police have starterd investigation after registering a case of accidental death.

BCom, LLB course, was upset due to her disqualification from appearing in final exam. She was among the 150 students from the department of law at VNSGU who were disqualified from appearing in final exam due to insufficient attendance or those who failed in internal exam.
The group of students were upset since the notice was put-up recently at the department without the students being informed about it in advance, students claimed. The students made representation to the VNSGU authorities recently after which those having insufficient attendance were allowed to appear in exam. But those who could not clear the internal exam were not allowed.
Parate had insufficient attendance and she also failed in internal exam. She was worried since she was disqualified from appearing in final exam.
