‘Karimnagar to turn hub for fish export’

Seedlings to be supplied free of cost

Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Eatala Rajender said the increased production of fish in various water bodies - including irrigation projects - in the integrated Karimnagar district would see it emerge as hub for fisheries export.

Participating in an orientation programme on integrated fisheries development scheme (IFDS) in Karimnagar town on Saturday, he promised to construct a modern fish market, ice factory and cold storage for the export and marketing of fish in Karimnagar town.

He said the fish seedlings would be supplied free of cost to fishermen to rear them in water bodies including minor irrigation tanks and major projects. He said all rights to the water bodies would be provided only to fishermen societies.

Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar, legislator G. Kamalakar, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, district fishermen cooperative society chairman Polu Laxman, AD (Fisheries) Balakishan and others were also present.
