The eight-part series will showcase the unseen aspects of the team by following the three-time title winner during the ongoing Indian Premier League, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It added that the series will spend time with players on and off the field, on the road and at home during the season, leading up to the final of IPL 2018. The series will be available for all Netflix subscribers across the world.

Netflix had also commissioned an original series based on Aravind Adiga's cricket-themed novel 'Selection Day' in August last year. The series will be produced in partnership with UK based production company Seven Stories.

Rival Amazon Prime Video had also launched a cricket-based fictional series Inside Edge, its first original series in India, in July last year. Earlier this week, the series was renewed for a second season.
