New uniforms for government school students

COIMBATORE: The school education department has unveiled new uniforms for Class IX-XII government school students across the state.

A communication from the director of schools said the uniform for students of Class IX and X was grey full pants and pink checked shirts/churidars. Girls would have a grey overcoat.


For students of Class XI and XII, it’s dark blue full pants and blue striped shirts/ churidars. Girls would have a dark blue overcoat. The students have to buy the uniforms on their own as they had been doing in the past years. Chief education officers have been directed to inform headmasters/headmistresses to ask the students to purchase the uniforms and use them from the coming academic year.


There would be no changes to the light brown and maroon uniform for students of Class I-VII, the release added. TNN
