1155 South Elizabeth Street, Mt. Pleasant High School (MPHS) – In 1956, after several attempts by the Board of Education for a new high school, voters consented and construction began. Just before the school opened in the fall of 1957, Mt. Pleasant High School 1957-1958 Student Council President-elect Larry Stinson toured the new facility with Mt. Pleasant Superintendent of School Russell LeCronier, third from left, and visiting dignitaries interested in the school courtyard architecture.
