Nintendo Switch games SHOCK: Gamestop teases new announcements for 2018
NINTENDO SWITCH games fans could be in for more shock reveals this year, following a few pointers laid out by Gamestop for 2018.

There’s already been a few shock announcements made for the Nintendo Switch games system this year.
While many suspected that Crash Bandicoot was coming to the console, no one was ready for the reveal of Super Smash Bros.
Other titles like Dark Souls Remastered and even Wolfenstein 2 have provided plenty of surprises for those who recently bought a Switch.
And it appears that more shock Nintendo Switch reveals could be on the way.
During a recent Gamestop earnings call, CEO Michael Mauler was asked whether the Switch’s impressive attachment rate would continue.
Mauler responded by saying that based on what was being planned for 2018, it was possible that this would continue.
The strength of the 2018 games line up was touched upon, with a possible tease suggesting that there’s plenty of more news to be announced.
“Yeah, I think that’s a fair question with Nintendo. I mean we know kind of what happened with Wii U,” Mauler is quoted as saying.
“I’d say this is definitely a whole different platform than we saw in the past. We have visibility to the software.
“So last year was a tremendous year for the software, as well as hardware between Zelda and Mario Odyssey and all the games that they had really drove a lot of hardware sales, as well as software.
“I think this year when we look at the slate of titles, many of which haven’t been announced yet, this year looks also very, very strong.
“So I think, at least, for 2018, we’ll continue to see the strong software slate drive additional installed base on the hardware and increase attach rate.
“We don’t have really visibility for 2019 yet, but for 2018 it should play out that way.”
A strong software slate in 2018 could be referencing anything, but many fans will be hoping this is pointing to games like the new Pokemon RPG.
However, Pokemon is a game that’s already been announced, so there’s also the chance of other big titles being revealed at E3 2018.
Nintendo are also well-known for announcing projects during Direct Streaming events, so there’s also the chance something could be announced before the big LA expo.
Other big projects that have been linked to the Nintendo Switch console but not announced, includes Call of Duty Black Ops 4.
The new title is reportedly being ported to the hybrid console and will be the first COD game available to play on it.
The new Spyro the Dragon remastered trilogy has also been linked to a Switch release, among other high profile franchises.
A version of FIFA 19 looks likely to arrive on Nintendo Switch, alongside other popular sports games like the NBA 2K series.
Then there’s the question of other ports being made for the Switch that haven't been announced, with possibilities including Injustice 2 and Soul Calibur 6.
