Hamilton: The Musical charts the life of its title star, but its climax leaves the stories of the supporting characters suspended short in 1804. The audience learns a little about what Eliza Hamilton (nee Schuyler) did next, but Aaron Burr, Angelica Schuyler and Maria Reynolds and are all left in Hamilton’s shadow.
According to history, however, the lives of the other people close to Hamilton were as interesting as the events of his. Bankruptcy, sex and frequent transatlantic escapades feature prominently, along with the odd egotistical village-building project. Read on, and hope Lin-Manuel Miranda is considering a sequel.
